Daring Fireball explains HP

Gruber I think has nailed the HP situation. I had completely forgotten the Hurd debacle and was not aware that Apotheker came from SAP. Without those two key elements, HP's sudden shift really confused me.

The combination of "not my deal" and Apotheker's history and explain both killing the hardware side of things and the desire to head towards software/services.

How this plays out should be interesting to watch.
